Student Wellbeing

Our Student Wellbeing program

Our Student Wellbeing program at Warriappendi School is inclusive and supports our student’s wellbeing, values and culture, creating a positive environment in which our staff and students can learn and work.

We ensure that we are providing an environment that is welcoming, respectful, safe and healthy for the whole school community.  We promote inclusion and celebrate diversity.

Some of the ways in which we support individual students include:

  • Offering a broad and comprehensive range of activities and extra-curricular opportunities to give all students the opportunity to develop a sense of pride and feeling of success.
  • Youth Worker works with students to focus on developing positive relationships with one another.
  • Providing supportive, caring and inspiring environments that are appropriate to individual student’s learning needs and abilities.
  • Providing all our students with positive role models, mentoring opportunities and support in forming meaningful relationships to assist them through their school lives.

In addition, students have the ability to engage with community organizations including Headspace, SAPOL, Aboriginal Family Support Services, Kyra Yerlo, Operation Flinders, Encounter Youth, CAHMS and many other culturally appropriate services in the community. Students are able to explore ways in which support their positive mental health and wellbeing at each stage of their life, with the support of the Wellbeing Youth Worker.

All students that attend Warriappendi School can access the Youth Worker during school hours. Appointments can be made in advance with the Wellbeing team happy to work in a whole family approach when necessary.
